Introduction

A Little About Me:
Hello, and welcome to my portfolio.  Let me start off by introducing myself.  My name is David Farley and I am currently a graduate student at SUNY Oswego.  I am entering my final year and very excited about completing the Adolescent Education Program with a concentration in Social Studies in the spring semester of 2009.  I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor Degree in History in the spring semester of 2007.  I also received an Associate Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in Business Management in the spring semester of 2005.  I am looking forward in becoming a future educator who not only wants to teach the Social Studies curriculum but also is exited about helping students reach their personal goals and dreams.  I am a very dependable, hardworking person who believes strongly in teamwork.
Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy is quite simple.  I believe that every student is capable of reaching their full potential and it is my job to have them accomplish this goal.  Each and every student is different and this needs to be taken into consideration when designing lesson plans and teaching practices.  It is my job to be flexible as a teacher and also use a variety of teaching styles that meet the needs of all students.
Purpose:
The purpose of this portfolio is to assist in the job application process.  I plan on showing this to future employers and school districts to showcase not only my work but also my personal reflection and opinion on various topics.
